Scholarship Programs

The scholarship program, begun in 1984, provides financial assistance to full time students in their junior and senior year who are career-pathed in mining related industries. A resident from each of the RMCMI member states is selected from among acceptable institutions. The scholarships are extended through tuition credit for the recipient's senior year, or post graduate, if again recommended by the institution. As of the 2007 convention, the Institute has presented 348 scholarships to 187 students for a total value of $438,250. The program provides an opportunity to encourage future industry leaders.

In 2007, RMCMI began a scholarship program for those attending Technical/Trade Schools. This program provides eight one-year, $1,000 scholarships to encourage technical students to pursue careers in the coal industry.
