Engineering/Geology Scholarship Application and Criteria

Given to students at a four year school entering their junior or senior year. Students must be a resident of one of the eight RMCMI member states and looking for a career in the coal industry. The scholarships are for $2,000 per year and may be given for up to two years. The selected students are also offered an all expense paid trip to the RMCMI Annual Meeting and Convention in late June where they have the opportunity to meet industry leaders and attend all of the technical sessions.

A new program started in 2007, the Technical Scholarship is a one-time, $1,000 gift to students in technical programs who hope to take their education into the coal industry where there is a great demand for technical applications.

Scholarship Guidelines

 

Scholarship applications open in September of each year and are available for five months. The application deadline is February 1 of each year. No applications will be accepted after February 1. Interviews of prospective candidates will be conducted in February. Scholarship winners will be selected and notified in early March of each year. Member states include Arizona, Colorado, North Dakota, Montana, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.
